Lahore, The 73rd syndicate meeting of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore was convened at the City Campus, with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad presiding. The meeting involved a comprehensive discussion on various academic and developmental initiatives, as well as significant achievements of the university.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad led the meeting, where he briefed the syndicate members on a wide range of topics. These included academic progress, research activities, short-term hands-on training programs, seminars, national and international conferences, development projects, stakeholder roundtable meetings, collaborations with national and international institutions and organizations, achievements, and initiatives aimed at advancing veterinary education and the livestock sector.
One of the notable achievements highlighted during the meeting was UVAS’s success in obtaining a drug manufacturing license and registration from the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) for the production of the Foot and Mouth vaccine. This development is expected to significantly benefit the country’s livestock sector.
The Vice-Chancellor also shared that UVAS has been ranked among the top 801-1000 best universities in the world and third in Punjab’s public sector in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The members of the UVAS syndicate commended Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmed for his dedicated efforts in enhancing the quality of education, research, and infrastructure development at the university during his tenure.
The meeting was attended by notable figures including Secretary of Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab Muhammad Masood Anwar, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Home Economics Prof Dr. Kanwal Ameen, Registrar Sajjad Hyder, and several other participants.
