Islamabad, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, spoke to journalists after installing a picture of Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto in the Interior Ministry. He expressed gratitude to the Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti for honoring the country’s martyrs who fell victim to terrorism. Zardari also highlighted the release of terrorists in Pakistan and their impact on the country’s security.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Zardari emphasized the sacrifices made by politicians, police, lawyers, judges, and army personnel in establishing peace and eradicating terrorism from Pakistan. He criticized the recent decision to release terrorists from prisons, a move he stated was not approved by parliament or the Pakistani people. He mentioned that these terrorists, who were also released from Afghanistan prisons, are now invited to settle in the tribal areas.
Zardari called for an investigation into the decision-makers behind the release of these terrorists, stressing the need for accountability and ensuring such decisions are not repeated. He insisted on involving parliament and the public in making such significant decisions in the future.
Responding to a question about India, Zardari asserted that India’s actions in Kashmir are violations of international laws and United Nations resolutions. He urged world powers to reconsider their support for India, as Indian Parliament and Judiciary cannot alter international treaties and UN resolutions. He reiterated that Kashmir remains a disputed territory that must be resolved.
Regarding the Pakistan People’s Party, Zardari affirmed that he is following the tradition set by Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and Makhdoom Amin Fahim, continuing his role as the chairman of the party.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to Justice Qazi Faiz Isa for hearing the presidential reference of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s case and requested that the proceedings be broadcasted live for transparency and to expose those involved in past injustices.
Zardari concluded by emphasizing the importance of Pakistan and Afghanistan jointly combating terrorism to achieve lasting peace in both countries.
