UOL Alumna Nimra Ilyas Embarks on a Successful Career as Government Physiotherapist


Lahore, Ms. Nimra Ilyas, an alumna of the University Institute of Physical Therapy at The University of Lahore (UOL), has marked a significant milestone in her career by securing a position as a government physiotherapist. Her journey reflects dedication and commitment to her field and serves as an inspiration for aspiring professionals in physiotherapy.



According to The University of Lahore, Ms. Ilyas, who graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2019 and a Master’s in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy in 2022, attributes her success to the education and support she received from UOL. She regards the university as her second home, where she honed her skills and developed into a successful and empathetic physiotherapist.



Ms. Ilyas’s career trajectory took a significant turn when she was selected for a government position through the Punjab Public Service Commission, a highly competitive and prestigious appointment. Out of 6,000 candidates, she successfully cleared the written exam and was then chosen from a pool of 420 interviewees for the role of Physiotherapist (BPS-17) in a government hospital. She also fulfills her passion for teaching by serving as a lecturer at UOL.



Her dedication to her profession and her role as a lecturer and physiotherapist highlight her commitment to giving back to the community and her institute. Ms. Ilyas credits her success to her mother and her teachers, particularly Prof Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) at UOL, for their unwavering belief and support.



In her message to students, especially those in the field of physiotherapy, Ms. Ilyas emphasizes the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and respect for parents and teachers.
