University of the Punjab to Host Ph.D. Defense on Acid Attack Survivors’ Experiences

Lahore, The Institute of Social and Cultural Studies at the University of the Punjab will host the Ph.D. public defense of Ms. Beenish Ambreen’s dissertation, “Gender and Acid Violence: Lived Experiences of Survivors of Acid Attacks in Punjab, Pakistan.” The defense is scheduled to take place on April 19, 2024, offering insights into the critical issue of acid violence from a sociological perspective.

According to University of the Punjab, Ms. Ambreen’s research addresses a significant and sensitive topic, shedding light on the gendered nature of acid attacks and the profound impact on survivors.
