Rawalakot, At the University of Poonch in Rawalakot, a recent interdepartmental meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering innovative ideas and improving sports facilities for its students.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the meeting brought together deans, department heads, and administrative officers to discuss the progress and challenges within their respective domains. Vice Chancellor Zakir emphasized the importance of interdepartmental cooperation and the role of innovative thinking in enhancing the university’s quality. He stated, “The quality of universities is recognized by ideas,” underscoring his commitment to welcoming new proposals that could contribute to the institution’s development.

During the meeting, Director of Sports Muhammad Younis Khan announced plans for the university to host its annual sports competitions on campus grounds for the first time, marking a significant enhancement in its sports infrastructure. This initiative reflects the administration’s priority to provide top-tier sports facilities, comparable to those found in globally recognized universities.

The participants also supported the creation of a women’s advisory council within the university, a move aimed at promoting inclusivity and supporting female students and staff. Additionally, Deputy Registrar Dr. Lubna Zafar briefed the attendees on a recent visit by a delegation from Lahore Garitharan University, discussing potential bilateral cooperation and student exchange programs.

Vice Chancellor Zakir reiterated the university’s dedication to the judicious and impactful use of resources, declaring the provision of quality sports facilities as a primary responsibility. “If there is none, this is the failure of the institutions,” he stated, highlighting the critical role of sports in the educational environment.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on the importance of addressing institutional challenges through collective awareness and strategic planning, aiming to elevate the University of Poonch Rawalakot’s standing both nationally and internationally.
