University of Poonch Partners with Kafala Foundation to Boost Climate-Adaptive Agriculture in Rawalkot

Rawalkot: The University of Poonch, through its Faculty of Agriculture, has entered into a partnership with the Kafala Foundation to provide technical support for agricultural practices adapted to climate change in Rawalkot. This collaboration aims to utilize agriculture as a sustainable livelihood and includes innovative projects like Agri Tunnel Farming and Bee Keeping.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Nasir Rahim, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Jamal Anees Abbasi, Managing Director of Kafala Foundation, during a special ceremony at the university. The event was attended by Dr. Abid Hussain, Director Orak at the university, Dr. Muhammad Liaquat, Program Manager at Kafala Foundation, and other faculty members.

The agreement focuses on enhancing technical capabilities and research activities to support climate-adaptive agricultural practices, aiming to attract more people to the field through practical and sustainable projects. This initiative marks a significant step in promoting environmental resilience and economic sustainability in the region.
