UMT Unveils Revamped Cricket Team for PCB Champion Cup 2024

Lahore: The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has officially launched its rebranded cricket team, the UMT Markhors, set to compete in the PCB Champion Cup 2024. Under the guidance of UMT alumnus and mentor Misbah ul Haq, the team boasts prominent players like Fakhar Zaman and Muhammad Rizwan, aiming to make a significant impact in the upcoming tournament.

According to University of Management and Technology, President Ibrahim Hasan Murad expressed enthusiasm about the new direction for the university’s cricket team. The rebranding from the former team name, the Wolves, to the Markhors symbolizes a renewed commitment to sports and student achievement. Murad highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership with the PCB Champion Cup, viewing it as a vital step toward enhancing UMT’s influence in national sports and providing more opportunities for students.

The team’s roster includes national cricket stars such as Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dhani, and Iftikhar Ahmed, all wearing the Markhor jersey.
