UCP Hosts Chinese Consul General for Scholarship Distribution Ceremony

Lahore, The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) recently held a notable Consul General China Scholarship Distribution Ceremony. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Zhao Shiren, the Consulate General of China in Lahore, who served as the Chief Guest.

According to University of Central Punjab, the ceremony was moderated by Sir Abdul Rehman, a lecturer at FOHSS and Co-patron of the Voltaire society. The event commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Nasrullah, a student of BS International Relations, followed by the playing of the national anthems of China and Pakistan.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the screening of a documentary that focused on the robust Sino-Pak relations, reflecting the deep-rooted ties between the two countries. Mr. Zhao Shiren took the opportunity to congratulate the students who were awarded scholarships and encouraged others to strive for academic excellence to avail similar opportunities in the future.

In a significant announcement, Mr. Zhao revealed plans for more scholarships to be offered next year, underlining the commitment of the Chinese government to support educational endeavors in Pakistan. He also expressed keen interest in fostering further educational and economic collaborations with UCP, particularly with its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The ceremony concluded with remarks from Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest and commemorated the occasion by presenting a souvenir to Mr. Zhao Shiren.
