Islamabad, On the occasion of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s birth anniversary, former President Asif Ali Zardari, also the President of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the national poet of Pakistan, highlighting his philosophical contributions and his role in awakening the consciousness among the Muslims of the subcontinent.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari extolled Allama Iqbal as a democratic figure whose poetry provides a philosophical framework that remains vital for understanding the ethos of the region. Iqbal’s work was praised for critiquing those who misuse religion to foment discord. Zardari underscored the importance of interpreting Iqbal’s vision as an endorsement of the people’s rule.
