Thousands Gather in Rawalpindi for Mourning Protection Convention

Rawalpindi: In a significant demonstration for the protection of mourning practices, thousands of participants, including scholars, remembrancers, founders, and mourners from the Rawalpindi region, convened to voice their concerns and demands. The event highlighted the community’s stance on the peaceful nature of mourning and their objections to imposed restrictions.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, Allama Bisharat Hussain Emami, Secretary General of the organization, addressed the gathering, emphasizing their commitment to the country and the peaceful nature of their protests. He criticized restrictions on mourning practices and called for military operations in Kurram Agency and Balochistan, as well as the implementation of the National Action Plan to expel banned parties. Emami warned that if demands are not met, Shia Sunni Azadara would mobilize on highways and public squares in protest.

The convention, held at Darbar Aliya Sakhi Shah Pyarakazmi Al-Mushahdi Chauharpal, saw participation from several influential figures. Attendees expressed their disapproval of the educational curriculum changes and the involvement of banned organizations in deciding religious beliefs. Calls were made for the Punjab government to cease the enforcement of certain SOPs.

The event concluded with the passage of a resolution expressing solidarity with the victims of Kashmir and Palestine. It demanded the restoration of religious sites and emphasized the need for unity within the Muslim Ummah to address ongoing issues, including those in Palestine and Kashmir.
