The recent monsoon rains have affected the lives of 3 in 5 Pakistani’s: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, September 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the recent monsoon rains have affected the lives of 3 in 5 Pakistani’s. This survey assessment suggests almost 140 million Pakistanis affected in one or the other way.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question, “Recent monsoon spells in the country have caused urban flooding in many areas, which poses many difficulties for citizens. Please share to what extent the current monsoon rains have affected your life?” In response to this question, 42% of the people responded, ‘A lot,’ 16% said ‘A little,’ 11% said ‘Very little’ and 30% responded ‘Not at all’

Amongst the provinces, Sindh had the highest percentage of people who responded their lives had been affected a lot by the recent monsoon spells at 54%, Balochistan came second at 52%, 40% people from KPK said the same, while Punjab had the lowest number at 39%.
