Islamabad, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): Career Services office organized an On-Campus Seminar on CSS/PMS Exams-2024 that held on March 08,2023 for the graduating batches of all the faculties of Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad. Mr. Mureed Hussain Jasra (40th Common) currently serving in Revenue Division invited to provide insights on Competitive Exams (CE) and career orientations in Pakistan Civil Services (PCS). A total of 100 students from different departments benefitted from the session.

Office of External Linkages and Internal Collaboration Held Seminar on “Pakistan to Germany Studies”

Islamabad, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): The seminar on “Pakistan to Germany Studies” was held on February 28th, 2023, at 12:00 pm in Auditorium A2 at the Capital University of Science and Technology. The seminar aimed to provide students interested in pursuing higher studies in Germany with information for admission Visa and lining expenses etc. The event was attended by a large number of 7th and 8th semester students from all the departments. The seminar was conducted by Major General Shaukat, Head of P2GS organization, who provided an overview of the German higher education system and the opportunities available to Pakistani students.

The audience was actively engaged throughout the event, asking insightful questions. The event provided insights into the challenges and opportunities facing Pakistani students interested in studying in Germany. It highlighted the need for language skills and financial support to help students succeed.

The students of 8th semester from the departments of; Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Management Sciences and the most recent graduates from same departments appeared for the above job positions. The total of 52 graduates of the Capital University registered and invited for the recruitment drive while 29 appeared in interview and 10 finally shortlisted for further process of hiring. In 10 candidates 8 has been selected for C++, Node-JS and Golang from CS and SE departments while 2 candidates are selected as HR Executives from department of Management Sciences.

Department of Psychology inked Memorandum of Understandings with Pehchaan Clinic

Islamabad, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony was held on Friday 24th February 2023 between the Department of Psychology CUST and Pehchaan Clinic, Islamabad. Dr. Sabahat Haqqani, HoD Psychology Department gave the welcome address to the worthy guest. The aim of MoU is to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

In order to work professionally, both parties agreed to collaborate on internship placement opportunities for our graduates, launch community engagement programs, and conduct workshops, seminars and training. Finally, Dr. Sabahat Haqqani, HoD Psychology, and Ms. Tahira Javaid, CEO and Head Psychologist signed the MoU.

Islamabad, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony was held on Thursday 23rd February 2023 between the Department of Psychology CUST and the International Research Force (IRF), Islamabad. Dr. Sabahat Haqqani, HoD Psychology Department gave the welcome address to the worthy guests. The aim of the MoU is to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

 

In order to work professionally, both parties agreed to collaborate in jointly design and conduct research collaborations specifically public health care, internship placement opportunities for Psychology graduates, to launch community engagement programs, and conduct workshops, seminars, and training. Finally, Dr. Sabahat Haqqani, HoD Psychology, and Mr. Syed Yahya Sheraz, CEO of IRF signed the MoU.

Department of Psychology Organized Symposium on “Contemporary Trends in Psychology”

Islamabad, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): A symposium on “Contemporary trends in Psychology” was organized by Department of Psychology on 1st March 2023 from 11.00- 2.00 pm. The event organizers were Ms. Sadaf Zeb, (Senior Lecturer) and Ms. Ayesha Aneeq (Lecturer), in Psychology Department. The Guest speakers were Dr. Rubina Hanif, Dr. Sajida Naz, Dr. Saima Kulsoom and Dr. Rayna Sadia. All the eminent guests had versatile expertise and experiences in teaching, research, publications, and supervisions.

 

This educational program was mainly designed to educate and envision students about Contemporary trends in Psychology. The main objective of the event was to bring experts from various domains of Psychology on one platform and give our students an exposure of industry and practical fields. The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a welcome note by Professor Dr. Muhammad Umar Farooq (HOD of English department) at Capital University of Sciences and Technology.

 

The Guest speakers provided extensive knowledge on the topic. Dr. Sajida Naz chose to talk about Post-COVID trends in Psychology and how we have grown personally and professionally after this immense change of life style. She highlighted topics such as work from home issues, kicking out stigmas, frontiers in neurosciences, and mental health of children.

 

Dr. Rubina Hanif focused on the concept of Digital Era and psychological challenges. She discussed topics including education in digital era, media skills of students, positive use of gadgets, artificial intelligence, social and emotional safety of young adults etc. Dr. Saima Kulsoom mainly highlighted recent advancements in Organizational Psychology.

 

She discussed recent trends in how organizational structures are now changing and focusing on including psychologists in every domain of an organization. Dr. Rayna Sadia made the session very interactive with the students by bringing in a quite new and interesting topic of Traffic Psychology.

 

She discussed issues like gender ratio in road accidents, role of authorities in issuing licenses to the drivers, assessment of personalities in making decisions about safety on the roads, and lastly individual responsibilities of people to make driving on the roads more peaceful and safe. Students took a lot of interest in her talk and enjoyed the interactive session.

 

Last 20 minutes were dedicated to a Question/Answer session by the students. The presenters very enthusiastically replied to all of them. The session ended with a vote of Thanks by Dr. Sabahat Haqqani and distribution of souvenirs among the guests by Professor Dr. Muhammad Umar Farooq.
