Survey Reveals Majority Believe Afghan Refugees Will Return to Homeland

Islamabad, A recent survey by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan has revealed that a majority of Pakistani citizens believe that Afghan refugees currently residing in the country will return to their homeland. The survey, conducted across various regions of Pakistan, involved a nationally representative sample of adult men and women.

According to Gallup Pakistan, the participants were asked to share their views on whether Afghan refugees, who have been residing in Pakistan illegally, would choose to go back to Afghanistan or stay in Pakistan. The results showed that 69% of respondents were of the opinion that these refugees would return to their homeland, while 18% believed that they would stay in Pakistan. Furthermore, 13% of the respondents either did not have an opinion or did not respond to the question.

This survey provides insight into the public perception regarding the future of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, reflecting a significant majority’s expectation of their repatriation.
