Sindh High Court Orders Inclusion of All SM Law College Students in Exams

Karachi, The Sindh High Court has ruled in favor of the students of SM Law College, directing Karachi University to release the enrollment list of 150 students and include them all in the upcoming examinations. This decision has brought joy and relief to the students, who expressed their gratitude to the Chief Justice of Sindh and other key figures involved in the case.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, the issue arose when Karachi University issued enrollments for only 100 students of SM Law College, leaving out 50 students. In response, a delegation of affected students approached the Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party, Altaf Shakoor. On their behalf, a Constitutional Petition CP-D5623/2023 was filed by Pasban’s lawyer, Khurram Lakhani Advocate, advocating for the rights and future of the students.

The case was heard by a two-member bench of the Sindh High Court, consisting of Chief Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Abdul Mubeen Lakho. The court’s decision mandates the inclusion of all 150 students of SM Law College in the examinations, ensuring their right to education and safeguarding their future. The ruling was praised by students and advocates alike for its promptness and fairness.

Khurram Lakhani Advocate commended the decision as historic, noting the swift action taken by the Chief Justice in securing the students’ academic future. Similarly, Mirza Azhar Baig Advocate highlighted the decision’s significance in proving that arbitrary policies cannot be upheld, encouraging students to prepare for their exams.

The students of SM Law College, including petitioners Fatima Quaid, Faiza Amin, Hasan Azhar, and others, expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi, Justice Abdul Mubeen Lakho, and Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party Altaf Shakoor for their support and intervention in this matter.
