Rawalpindi, The Shi’ite community commemorated the “Mourning Protection Day” in memory of the Mousavi Junejo Agreement on May 21, 1985, celebrating the efforts of Shi’ite leader Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi. The day was marked with a grand conference at the Shi’ite School of Ali (A.S.) Mosque in Rawalpindi, reflecting on the agreement’s impact on the protection of mourning rights and its significance to the survival of Islam.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the conference reasserted the importance of the Wilayat system, with Chief Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqdisi emphasizing that the leadership of Wilayat-i-Ali guarantees the continuation of Islam. Speakers at the conference highlighted that the Mousavi Junejo Agreement not only safeguards mourning practices but also reinforces the movement for the implementation of Fiqh Jafaria, which they regard as crucial for the preservation of Pakistan’s foundational principles.
The conference attendees, including notable scholars and community leaders, reiterated their commitment to defending the values established by Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi. They praised his leadership for confronting challenges during a difficult period in Pakistan’s history and credited the agreement with maintaining the dignity and unity of the Shi’ite community against external and internal adversities.
