Shawaal Zulfiqar Sidelined for Six Weeks Due to Shoulder Injury

Queenstown, Shawaal Zulfiqar, a prominent cricketer, has been ruled out of competitive cricket for six weeks following a right shoulder injury. The injury occurred while fielding during the second T20I against New Zealand women at the University of Otago Oval in Dunedin on Tuesday, 5 December.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Shawaal was immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention after the incident. X-rays of her injured shoulder revealed an AC joint sprain. Fortunately, subsequent ultrasound results showed no signs of a muscular tear, which could have potentially led to a longer recovery period.

The PCB has stated that a decision regarding Shawaal’s departure from the ongoing series will be made in due course. In the meantime, the team’s physiotherapist will continue to closely monitor her condition and oversee her recovery process. This injury is a significant setback for the team, considering Shawaal’s contributions to the sport.
