Peshawar, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, has announced that it will close its doors on two separate occasions to observe the General Elections and Kashmir Solidarity Day. The university will be closed from the 6th to the 9th of February for the General Elections and on the 5th of February for Kashmir Day, as per the notifications issued by the institution’s academic section.
According to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University – Peshawar, the notifications, which were approved by the Vice Chancellor, were issued following directives from the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The university has informed all concerned that any examinations, tests, or interviews that were previously announced for these dates will be rescheduled and conducted on alternate days, as detailed in subsequent notifications from the university.
This decision affects all students and employees, underlining the university’s observance of important national events. The first closure aligns with Pakistan’s nationwide elections, an event that underscores the country’s democratic processes. The second marks Kashmir Solidarity Day, a day observed across Pakistan in support of the people of Kashmir and their right to self-determination. The closures reflect the university’s commitment to civic participation and national solidarity.
