MUZAFFARGARH, World Mental Health Day was marked with a seminar and awareness walk at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh, aiming to underline the importance of mental health and offer insights into managing socio-economic stressors effectively.

According to the Indus Hospital and Health Network, the Mental Health Department at the hospital led the charge, organizing events to raise consciousness about mental health as a critical aspect of overall well-being. The seminar featured Clinical Psychologist Shaista Almas, who spoke about the severe mental strain caused by economic and societal challenges and the consequent stress-induced decisions. She encouraged individuals facing mental challenges to seek help and emphasized the availability of mental health counselors at the facility.

Waqar Ahmed, Head of Operations, contributed to the dialogue, acknowledging the universal impact of socio-economic conditions on mental stress. He called for constructive communication and consultations to assist both patients and caregivers in coping with their conditions. Highlighting a troubling tendency for individuals to project personal frustrations in professional environments, he made a case for promoting patience and proactive problem-solving through positive engagement rather than hostility.

The event also included an awareness rally and educational stalls, providing attendees with crucial information on mental health disorders and advocating for a shift in attitudes toward mental health discussions.

Among the notable participants were Dr. Mubashir Khan, Dr. Sohail Khalid, Dr. Nadeem Sohail, and a host of other professionals, all united in the mission to promote mental health awareness.
