Punjab University Hosts Seminar on Youth’s Role in Drug Abuse Prevention

Lahore, Punjab University in collaboration with its Directorate of Students Affairs, Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS), and the Anti-narcotics Force (ANF), organized an awareness seminar titled ‘Role of Youth in Drug Abuse Prevention’. The event, held at the ISCS auditorium, aimed to educate students about the critical role they can play in combating drug abuse.

According to University of the Punjab, the seminar featured discussions led by notable figures including Regional Director Commander Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhary, Director Student Affairs Dr. Muhammad Ali Kalasra, and ISCS coordinator Dr. Navid Tahir. Brigadier Chaudhary presented ANF’s strategies for drug prevention in Pakistan and urged students to actively participate in drug abuse prevention initiatives. Dr. Kalasra emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between academia and enforcement agencies to mitigate drug addiction’s impact on society, particularly on youth. The seminar’s goal was to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drugs on both individuals and society at large. The event also included a meeting between Brigadier Chaudhary and PU VC Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, where they reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a drug-free society.
