Lahore – The Punjab University in Lahore has organized the fourth national conference on ‘Research in Special Education-2023’, focusing on the needs and rights of individuals with special needs. The event, held at the university’s Al Raazi Hall, brought together educators, researchers, and students to discuss advancements in special education.
According to University of The Punjab, the conference was addressed by the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging and addressing the unique needs of every member of society, including those with special needs. The event also featured contributions from Prof Dr. Humera Bano, Director of the Institute of Special Education, and former Chairman of the Department of Special Education Prof Dr. Abdul Hameed.
Key discussions highlighted the achievements and struggles of individuals with special needs, with a focus on fostering a sense of equality and inclusivity in society. Dr. Mahmood pointed out the extraordinary accomplishments of special persons, comparing them to their peers in society.
The conference also celebrated the academic milestones of the Institute of Special Education, including the production of 31 PhDs in the field. The objective of the conference was to bring forth new ideas and perspectives in special education research. Distinguished individuals shared their success stories, providing inspiration and valuable insights to the attendees.
