PTI Launches New Anti-Army Campaign Amid Legal and Political Controversies

Islamabad, The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has initiated a new campaign against the army and state institutions, raising questions about the management of the party’s social media accounts during Imran Khan’s incarceration. This campaign comes amidst a backdrop of legal actions and controversies involving PTI leaders and judicial decisions.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the campaign’s recent activities include a contentious tweet comparing Imran Khan to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and criticizing the current army leadership, which was purportedly posted by a volunteer from America. This has sparked a series of official responses from PTI leadership distancing the party from the tweets, amid ongoing investigations by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The FIA’s inquiry at Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan has been held, resulted in no cooperative response from Khan, who insists on responding in the presence of his lawyers.

The situation is further complicated by recent court rulings that have acquitted Imran Khan and other PTI leaders in several cases, leading to public and governmental concern over the judiciary’s role in current political dynamics. The Corps Commanders Conference, led by Army Chief General Asim Munir, highlighted the need for judicial and legal action against the perpetrators of the May 9 incidents, emphasizing the influence of foreign entities in the ongoing propaganda efforts against Pakistan’s state institutions.
