National Task Force for E-Sports Formed to Boost Pakistan’s Presence in International Arena

Islamabad, The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has announced the formation of a National Task Force for E-Sports, aimed at enhancing and developing E-Sports in Pakistan. This initiative coincides with the inclusion of E-Sports as an official discipline in the upcoming 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games scheduled for November 21-30, 2024, in Bangkok and Chonburi Province, Thailand.

According to Pakistan Olympic Association, the creation of the National Task Force is a strategic move to bolster Pakistan’s participation in international E-Sports events. The 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will feature various E-Sports events, marking a significant opportunity for Pakistani athletes to compete on an international stage. The POA has emphasized the importance of the online accreditation process initiated by the Games’ Organizing Committee, which is essential for the participation of Pakistani E-Sports athletes.

The POA has requested the submission of specific information for athlete accreditation by June 25, 2024, along with performance analyses and passport validations ensuring six months of validity until at least June 1, 2025. Furthermore, the financing of the E-Sports contingent’s participation expenses has been designated as the responsibility of the Pakistan Sports Board and the Task Force.

The association also highlights the need for prompt action from all E-Sports stakeholders in Pakistan to ensure that the necessary forms and documentation are completed and submitted within the stipulated deadlines. The POA has provided additional resources, including the sports program and a technical handbook on E-Sports, to assist in preparing for the Games.

This initiative represents a crucial step towards not only promoting E-Sports within Pakistan but also establishing a competitive presence at significant international events like the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
