PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Predicts Repeat of 2008 Election Outcome for Rival Parties

Karachi, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a recent media interaction, expressed confidence that rival political parties, referred to as the ‘King’s party,’ will face a similar fate in the upcoming general election as they did in the 2008 election. He emphasized the PPP’s commitment to developing public spaces and its anticipated success in the upcoming elections.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Zardari, while addressing the media after visiting the Dino Safari Park, stressed the importance of developing playgrounds and public squares in cities. He linked the creation of such spaces to economic growth and livability of cities. Zardari expressed hope that the people of Karachi would support PPP in the forthcoming general elections, drawing a parallel to the Party’s recent victory in local elections.

Chairman Zardari addressed the challenges Pakistan faces, including economic, foreign, political, and democratic crises, and the PPP’s efforts to address them. He cited the PPP’s role in the opposition since 2013 and its contributions, such as supporting the NICVD hospital and aiding flood victims.

Discussing political alliances, Zardari noted that the partnership between Muslim League (N) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement or Muhajir Qaumi Movement would benefit PPP. He also mentioned potential cooperation with Maulana Fazal Rehman’s JUI(F) and underscored PPP’s nationwide electoral strategy.

Zardari highlighted the increased public awareness in Pakistan and the expectation for principled representation. He emphasized that disloyalty to parties would not be rewarded in elections and commented on PTI’s evolving stance on democracy and the constitution, viewing it as a learning phase in their political journey.

The event was attended by former Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Saeed Ghani, Shehla Raza, and other PPP leaders.
