Pakistan People’s Party has always struggled to protect and empower women’s rights in the country: Faryal Talpur 

Karachi, January 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan People’s Party Central President of Women’s Department and Sindh Assembly Standing Committee on Interior Chairperson Faryal Talpur has said that Pakistan People’s Party has always struggled to protect the rights of women and empower them in the country. He expressed these views while addressing a convention organized by Pakistan Baitul Mal in the Arts Council. At the convention, 100 families of orphaned girls were financially supported under the new program OWSP.

In his speech, Faryal Talpur referred to the First Women Bank, Women Police Station and Lady Health Workers Program on behalf of the Pakistan People’s Party, which were introduced during the first and second term of the regime of Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto and which are in place today are also continuing with success. Faryal Talpur said that recently the government of Sindh has given 25 acres of land to landless farmer women in connection with the economic empowerment of women.

An initiative has been taken to give ownership rights. He said that only educated, skilled and economically stable women can be equal and empowered. Faryal Talpur also mentioned another women’s empowerment initiative, Women on Wheels, which was started by her from the same place in Karachi, and which has now become a national level programme.

The said program is most popular among young girls, who are in control of their own future and destiny. He said that another initiative by the Sindh government for women in the form of Pink Taxi is being launched soon in Karachi, which will be launched in other parts of the province later.

Faryal Talpur also appreciated the role of Zamrad Khan for effectively running the Sweet Homes initiative in Islamabad and other parts of the country and playing an active role in its affairs. He said that the media and related people were martyred in Sindh One should visit the Sweet Home established in Benazirabad, where he himself personally tried all possible support.

Referring to the Pakistan People’s Party manifesto of equal rights for all, he said that Islam preaches and teaches equality, which is also included in the party’s constitution. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party has always raised its voice for the equal rights of all citizens, has struggled and helped the poor and marginalized people.

During the ceremony, Faryal Talpur also distributed sewing machines to widows on behalf of Pakistan Baitul Mal. Addressing the event, Pakistan Baitul-Mal Managing Director Aamir Fida Paracha said that this special program has been started for widows to provide a stipend of Rs 8000 to each girl and Rs 12000 to two girls to support their daughters.

They can continue their education. He personally on behalf of former President Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur All possible support regarding this initiative of Sweet Homes is appreciated. He added that on his request, President Saf Ali Zardari recently provided him with 1,000 shoes and uniforms for orphans at Sweet Homes.

Senator Waqar Mehdi of Pakistan People’s Party also addressed the event, who said that no political party in Pakistan has done a solid and commendable work for the rights and empowerment of women in the country like the Pakistan People’s Party.

What has happened since its establishment till today? MNA Shahida Rahmani, Provincial Labour Minister Saeed Ghani, Members of Sindh Assembly Sohail Anwar Syal, Qasim Siraj Soomro and Sadia Javed also participated in the convention. A large number of deserving women of Pakistan Baitul Mal, their families and civil society workers also participated in the convention. I have provided them with 1000 shoes and uniforms for orphans in Sweet Homes.
