Pakistan Peace Council Secretary Decries Karachi’s Public Health Crisis and Gaza Violence

Karachi, General Secretary of the Pakistan Peace Council, Mufti Muhammad Adnan Madani, has called for an end to the exploitation of Karachi’s residents, citing severe public health issues due to lack of basic rights and facilities. He also criticized the international response to the recent violence in Gaza, particularly against Israel’s actions toward Palestinians.

According to Pakistan Aman Council, Mufti Adnan expressed these concerns during a discussion with dignitaries at Al-Madani Quran Academy in Shershah, Karachi. He highlighted the dire state of public health in Karachi, attributing it to widespread pollution and inefficiency of relevant departments. Madani described the entire city as besieged by dirt and pollution, significantly impacting the health of its residents.

Turning his attention to international affairs, Mufti Adnan condemned the treatment of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel. He criticized what he perceived as hypocrisy in the United Nations’ condemnation of the violence, pointing out the apparent ineffectuality of the response. He also expressed disappointment in the Muslim rulers’ response to the crisis, urging them to support Palestinian Muslims more robustly and challenge Israel’s actions more effectively.

Mufti Adnan’s statements reflect growing concerns about urban health crises in major Pakistani cities and the complexities of international relations in conflict zones. His call for improved public health measures in Karachi and stronger support for Palestinians in Gaza resonates with broader issues of human rights and international diplomacy.
