Pakistan Cricket Board Announces Team Management for Australia Test Tour

Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the team management for the upcoming Test cricket tour to Australia, scheduled from December 2023 to January 2024. The Pakistan cricket team is set to play three Test matches on Australian soil, marking a significant series in the cricket calendar.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the team management for this tour comprises a blend of experienced and specialized personnel. Naveed Akram Cheema will serve as the Team Manager, with Mohammad Hafeez taking the role of Director for the Pakistan men’s cricket team. The coaching staff includes Adam Hollioake as the Batting Coach, Simon Grant Helmot as the High Performance Coach, Umar Gul as the Fast Bowling Coach, Saeed Ajmal as the Spin Bowling Coach, and Abdul Majeed as the Fielding Coach.

Additional support staff includes Mansoor Rana as the Assistant Team Manager, Shahid Aslam as the Assistant Batting Coach, and Drikus Saaiman as the Strength and Conditioning Coach/Trainer. Cliffe Deacon will be the team’s Physiotherapist, Talha Ejaz will serve as the Team Analyst, and Lt Col (Rtd) Akhtar Hussain will handle the role of Security Manager. Raza Rashid Kitchlew is appointed as the Media Manager, Ammar Ahsan as the Videographer, Dr. Sohail Saleem as the Team Doctor, and Malang Ali as the Team Masseur.

The cricket series will commence with the first Test match in Perth from December 14 to 18, followed by the second Test in Melbourne from December 26 to 30. The final match of the tour will be held in Sydney from January 3 to 7, 2024.

The Pakistan squad, set to depart from Lahore on November 30, includes Shan Masood as the captain, along with players Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), Saud Shakeel, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

This tour is a critical phase for the Pakistan cricket team, as they face a challenging series against Australia in their home conditions.
