Travel Notice
Students travelling to Pakistan for exams must notify the examination department one week before departure at [email protected].
Physical attendance at a local exam centre is required; online exams are not allowed in Pakistan. Failure to notify or comply may result in exam scheduling issues.
Exam Application and Pre-Requisite
Overseas Exam Software and related materials have been made available for download. Please make sure to install the latest exam application available on the link given below. Students must follow the sequence of instructions given below for smooth and error-free installation:
Important Note: Do not use an office Windows system or an internet connection with administrator restrictions/policies.
Use a personal Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) system.
Ensure the internet connection is stable.
Set the default language on the system to English (United States).
Uninstall any antivirus software and remote-control applications except for TeamViewer and AnyDesk.
A MAC user (i.e. having an intel processor) may dual boot the MAC with the official Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit version) OS by following the instructions in this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468.
Use of third-party virtual machine software is strictly prohibited.
Software Installation Instructions
Download and install the required software and exam application on a Windows system from https://qb.vu.edu.pk.

Remote Control App (For Invigilation)
Any of the following Remote application will be used for invigilation by the examiner.

AnyDesk (https://anydesk.com/en/downloads/windows?dv=win_exe)
Windows QuickAssist (Built-in Windows)
WebCam (Use Mobile as external Webcam in Exam Application with following app)
IRIUN Application https://iriun.com/ (Install on mobile and laptop/pc. Run app on both devices and it will auto-detect)
For Demo Test
After installing the exam app VUTES exam application, an icon will be visible on their desktop.
Please double-click the icon to run the demo test.
Use the student ID as a login and password for logging into the exam application to take a demo test. For example,
Login ID: BC2302XXXXX (You Student VU ID)
Password: BC2302XXXXX (You Student VU ID)
Enable your external webcam, and check if it works in the VUTES exam app. Ensure all questions are in a readable format. Attempt the complete demo test and click finish button to submit it.
Note:
The Login ID and password mentioned on the datesheet will only be accessible during the actual exam time (i.e., according to Pakistan Standard Time).
No invigilators are present during the demo sessions, so there is no need to reply to the messages during the demo.

Demo Test Schedule
A student may test their installation by joining any of the following sessions FROM (02 August 2023) to (11 August 2023), during the specified session timings (i.e., as per Pakistan Standard Time) as mentioned below:
Sessions 1: 07:30 am
Sessions 2: 09:30 am
Sessions 3: 11:30 am
Sessions 5: 02:30 pm
Sessions 6: 04:30 pm
Examination Day
Please observe the following guidelines at the start of exam session:
Run the VUTES exam application, Webcam App IRIUN and Remote application.
Log in 15 minutes before the paper time. For example, login 7:15 AM if paper time is 7:30 AM (Pakistan Standard Time)
In the VUTES chat box, share the TeamViewer ID and password / AnyDesk ID with the invigilator for remote inspection and monitoring.
Use at least one external webcam and follow the prescribed view instructions: https://handbook.vu.edu.pk/HandBook_Pages/PrescribedWebcamView.jpg
Use a table and chair for laptop/PC, place the table against a wall.
Camera must be placed above head level.
Place camera on either left or right side atleast 2 meters away from table to show complete surroundings.
Attendance will not be marked with improper view.
Ensure the system microphone is enabled.
After the system inspection, Attendance will be marked by the invigilator.
Read the Exam and Course-related instructions carefully and attempt the paper within the given time.
