National Textile University Launches Plantation Drive in Faisalabad

Faisalabad, The National Textile University (NTU) in Faisalabad has launched a significant plantation drive on its main campus aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing greenery. The initiative was led by NTU Rector Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain and supported by faculty, staff, and students, underscoring a community-wide commitment to ecological conservation.

According to National Textile University, the plantation drive involved various members of the university including Dr. Zahid Hussain, Assistant Professor and Incharge of Horticulture; Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Iqbal, Assistant Professor at the Faisalabad Business School; Mr. Sardar Pervaiz Akhtar, Public Relation Officer; and Mr. Shahzad Ali, Head Mali. Together with students, they planted a diverse array of trees such as Jamun, Guava, Moringa, Arjun, and Sukh Chain across the campus.

The event highlighted the university’s efforts to engage the academic community in proactive environmental stewardship. By integrating educational activities with direct action like tree planting, NTU aims to foster a greater sense of environmental responsibility among students and contribute to improving air quality in and around the campus.

During the event, Rector Hussain expressed gratitude towards the Higher Education Commission for its continued support of NTU’s green initiatives. He emphasized that the drive is a testament to the university’s dedication to promoting environmentally friendly practices among the youth.
