Message of the Chairman, BoG on Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day

Lahore, August 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):As we celebrate the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan, I am proud to reflect on the progress that our great nation has made in its journey towards a brighter future. As the Chairman of the Board of Governors, University of Lahore, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to all Pakistanis, both at home and abroad, on this momentous occasion.

This day holds a special place in the heart of every Pakistani, as it marks the hard-won independence of our nation. It is a day of reflection, celebration, and commitment to our national ideals. As an educational institution committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement, we share this vision of a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Pakistan with our students, faculty, and staff.

Pakistan’s journey since its inception has been full of challenges and obstacles in every field, including social, economic, and political arenas. However, despite all these challenges, our resilient nation has made remarkable progress and achieved significant milestones in various domains.

Today, we stand at the threshold of a new era in Pakistan’s history, and it is incumbent upon us all to renew our commitment to its progress and development. We must harness the extraordinary potential of our youth to transform Pakistan into a strong and prosperous nation that can take its rightful place among the world’s successful nations. It is imperative that we empower and equip them with the tools and resources necessary to unleash their full potential and achieve their aspirations.

I firmly believe that education and skill development are the cornerstones of any nation’s progress and development. At the UOL, we are committed to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of leaders who will drive Pakistan’s growth and raise its status in the community of nations. Through quality education, research, and innovation, we are developing future-ready professionals who are not only adept in their respective fields but also have a strong sense of social responsibility, ethics, and morals. We are equipping them with the skills and knowledge that are in demand in the market and making them employable to contribute not only to their personal growth but also to Pakistan’s economic development.

On this independence day, let us renew our commitment to working towards a bright future for Pakistan where there is peace, progress, and prosperity for all. I believe that together, we can overcome any challenges and achieve our collective vision for a better tomorrow.

Let us celebrate our independence, cherish our identity, and work towards a brighter future!
