Lahore Lecturer Secures Four Golds at Asian Powerlifting Championship

Lahore, Muhammad Abdul Jabbar Adnan, a lecturer from the Punjab University Department of Sports, has clinched four gold medals in the super heavyweight category at the Asian University Classic and Asian Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2024 held in Hong Kong. This achievement marks his fifth time as the Asian champion in a contest that saw participation from 150 athletes across 17 countries.

According to University of the Punjab, Abdul Jabbar Adnan, who has been involved in powerlifting for two decades, showcased outstanding performance, leading to the playing of the National Anthem of Pakistan in his honor at the award ceremony. His achievement has been met with praise from the university’s leadership, including Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and others from the sports department, who noted his significant contribution to the university and the nation’s prestige in sports.
