Lahore and Karachi Women’s Teams to Clash in National Women’s T20 Tournament Final

Rawalpindi, An exciting finale is on the cards at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, where Nida Dar’s Lahore Women’s team will face off against Fatima Sana’s Karachi Women in the National Women’s T20 Tournament 2023-24 final.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the much-awaited final will be live-streamed on PCB’s YouTube channel tomorrow, starting at 11am PKT. The teams will be vying for the championship title and a prize of PKR one million, with the runners-up set to receive PKR 0.5 million. Individual accolades are also at stake, with the player of the tournament awarded PKR 50,000 and the player of the match receiving PKR 20,000. Additionally, the tournament’s best batter, bowler, and wicket-keeper will each be recognized with PKR 25,000.

Lahore Women have dominated the tournament, winning all 10 of their matches. Their standout player, Sidra Amin, leads the batting charts with 494 runs, including a century and three half-centuries, and boasts a strike rate of 143.60. In the bowling department, Lahore’s spin twins Ghulam Fatima and Nashra Sundhu have been remarkable, claiming the top two spots in the wickets tally. Captain Nida Dar expressed confidence in her team’s performance and anticipates a challenging yet exciting final.

On the other hand, Karachi Women have won six out of their 10 matches. Their former national captain Javeria Khan has been instrumental, scoring 352 runs with two half-centuries. In the bowling arena, Karachi’s spinners, led by 20-year-old leg-spinner Syeda Aroob Shah and off-spin bowler Rameen Shamim, have mirrored Lahore’s success. Karachi captain Fatima Sana acknowledged the team’s challenging start to the tournament but praised the players for their resilience and comeback, especially the younger members.

Both teams have demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament, setting the stage for a thrilling and competitive final match.
