Lahore, Sirajul Haque, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has strongly criticized the current political leadership, asserting that the internal challenges faced by the country are more significant than any external threats. In his address at an election meeting in Hyderabad, Haque emphasized the party’s commitment to establishing an Islamic rule and transforming Pakistan into a prosperous nation.
According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Haque condemned the long-standing rule of the People’s Party in Sindh, accusing them of neglect and mismanagement, particularly during the recent floods. He stated that Jamaat-e-Islami stood by the people when they were left helpless. Haque also dismissed the MQM and the PML-N, challenging their claims to leadership and promising a new era of governance.
Dr. Meraj Ul Huda Siddiqui, Central Deputy Amir and Candidate for the National Assembly, along with other party leaders, echoed Haque’s sentiments at the rally. Siddiqui criticized the People’s Party’s 50-year rule in Sindh, highlighting the lack of development and employment opportunities in Hyderabad.
Haque outlined Jamaat-e-Islami’s agenda, focusing on economic recovery, abolishing the usury system, providing employment opportunities, and modernizing agriculture. He promised to develop Hyderabad and Karachi into modern cities and to safeguard women’s rights and honor. Haque also pledged to support international causes, including the freedom of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rights of Kashmiris, and vowed to bring back Dr. Aafia from America.
Muhammad Hussain Al-Jadi, another party leader, accused the People’s Party and PML-N of bankrupting Pakistan and pledged that Jamaat-e-Islami would foster industrial and economic development.
Haque’s three-day visit to Sindh, which included rallies in different areas and a Friday gathering at Al-Rahim Masjid Nooriabad, was part of Jamaat-e-Islami’s election campaign. The party aims to present itself as a viable alternative to the current political parties, promising significant reforms and a new direction for Pakistan.
