Islamabad, In alignment with the Universal Days of Justice initiated by Quaid Millat-e-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi, Pakistan, including its capital, Islamabad, is set to observe Shab-e-Barat, the night of forgiveness and blessings, with fervent devotion and celebrations on Sunday, February 25. This revered occasion, known as Nima-Shaban, ranks highly in Islamic tradition, second only to Shab-e-Qadr, for its significance in accepting prayers and supplications.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the commemoration of this holy night will be observed nationwide, with special gatherings in mosques and imambargahs to honor the birth of Hazrat Hujjat Ibn al-Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), the last successor of the Prophet Muhammad. Zulfikar Ali Raja, the convener of the Universal Justice Committee TNFJ, detailed that the celebrations will include collective prayers, recitation of Milad, and submitting petitions and needs in water bodies as a symbolic act of entrusting hopes and prayers to the divine. This act signifies the populace’s devotion and their pleas for intervention by Hazrat Imam al-Asr wal-Zaman (peace be upon him) during these times of hardship and injustice.
Raja further emphasized that the night of Nima Shaban, also known as Shab-e-Barat, is an opportunity for the faithful to engage in prayer and reflection. This time is marked by a heightened emphasis on vigilance and worship, echoing the practices advised for Shab-e-Qadr. He remarked on the current global climate of “cruelty and barbarism,” underscoring the community’s yearning for a messiah to usher in an era of justice and peace, free from oppression.
The events of Shab-e-Barat in Islamabad and across Pakistan are set to include poetic tributes, sermons, and scholarly discourses celebrating the family of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them) and discussing the philosophy of awaiting the Mahdi. These gatherings are not only a testament to the religious fervor of the faithful but also a collective call for divine justice in a world rife with turmoil.
