IPO Chairman Commends UVAS for Excellence in Education and Research

Lahore, During a recent visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, Mr. Farukh Amil, Chairman of the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan, lauded the university for its high standards in education and research. The visit, which included Assistant Controller of Patents Ms. Shakra Khurshid, focused on enhancing collaboration between UVAS and IPO Pakistan to promote intellectual property awareness among students and researchers.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mr. Amil emphasized the importance of intellectual property education in empowering students and researchers to utilize the intellectual property system effectively. He praised UVAS for its role in fostering an environment that supports innovation and community service, particularly under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus. Mr. Amil also highlighted IPO Pakistan’s readiness to assist UVAS with intellectual property rights acquisition, patent filing, and providing guidance to applicants.

The visit included discussions with several prominent figures at UVAS, including Emeritus Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, Director Training Center for Biologics Production Prof. Dr. Amir Ghafoor Bajwa, and Director Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization Dr. Ferhan Jamil, who were present during the meetings. These discussions underscored the ongoing efforts to integrate intellectual property education into the university’s curriculum to enhance its research output and societal impact.
