Indonesian Counselor Enhances Humanitarian Ties with Visit to PRCS Headquarters in Islamabad

Islamabad, Mr. Rahmat Hindiyarta Kosuma, Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy, visited the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) headquarters to discuss strengthening humanitarian cooperation and exchange ideas on improving the welfare of communities. This meeting with PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari highlighted ongoing collaborative efforts and explored new avenues for partnership between Indonesia and Pakistan in the humanitarian sector.

According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the PRCS Secretary General, Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, provided an in-depth briefing on the organization’s activities and response strategies, particularly concerning the 2022 monsoon floods. The Indonesian Counselor learned about the PRCS’s critical role during emergencies and ongoing recovery operations in the affected regions.

Mr. Rahmat Hindiyarta Kosuma praised the PRCS’s efforts under Chairman Laghari’s leadership, recognizing the organization’s impact on humanitarian services. He reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to bolstering this partnership, emphasizing the potential for increased collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy and the PRCS.

Secretary General Khan expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s support, notably in organizing blood donation camps and suggested further cooperation with the Indonesian Red Cross Society to enhance PRCS’s capabilities through financial and technical support. He stressed the importance of such international partnerships in effectively addressing humanitarian challenges.

The visit, culminating with Mr. Kosuma touring the PRCS library and signing the visitor’s book, underscored the strong ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to humanitarian work. The PRCS highlighted this event as a step forward in fostering a deeper, more impactful collaboration with Indonesia.
