Islamabad, Imam Kaaba, H.E. Professor Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, emphasized the sanctity of human life and the need for international intervention to address the crisis in Gaza. He shared these views during a special address at the International Islamic University’s conference on “Protection of Human Life in Shariah and Law” at the Faisal Masjid Campus in Islamabad.
According to International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid highlighted the massacre of innocent people in Gaza as a dark period in human history and called for an end to the cruelty against Muslims in Palestine. He stressed the importance of the sanctity of human life in Islamic Shari’ah and law, regardless of belief. The Imam condemned the loss of human life and stated that taking a life without reason is a sin in Islam, punishable by hell.
During the conference, interim Education Minister Madad Ali Sindhi expressed Pakistan’s gratitude to Imam Kaaba for his visit and acknowledged the potential of the youth to change the destiny of the Muslim Ummah. He spoke about the sad plight of Palestine and Islam’s teachings on coexistence and peace.
Dr. Samina Malik, Rector of IIUI, expressed appreciation for the support from Khadam-e-Harmeen Sharifeen and the government of Saudi Arabia. She thanked Imam Kaaba for attending the conference and highlighted the transformative changes at the university led by Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi and his team.
IIUI President H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi remarked on the significance of the Imam Kaaba’s visit and the role of universities in societal development. He thanked the custodians of Al-Haramain Al-Sharifeen for their cooperation and emphasized the importance of universities in fostering constructive debate.
The conference was attended by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf Said Al-Maliki, vice presidents of the university, diplomats from various countries, and numerous teachers and students.
Imam Kaaba’s visit to Islamabad, specifically for the IIUI conference, and his leadership in Friday prayers at Faisal Mosque, underscore the importance of the event in addressing critical issues in Islamic law and society.
