Lahore, September 03, 2023 (PPI-OT): Indus Hospital and Health Network recently hosted a special event in honour of World Urology Day. Organized by The Paediatric Urology Team in collaboration with The Psychosocial Department, the event welcomed twelve children and their parents, some traveling from different parts of Pakistan.

The event highlighted the importance of psycho-social support for pediatric urology patients right from their first hospital visit. The focus was on helping families understand the need for complex surgery to improve their children’s quality of life. The expert team provided strategies to manage pain, discomfort, and surgery preparation.

Half of the children had already undergone major reconstructive surgeries for conditions like bladder exstrophy and neurogenic bladder dysfunction, while the other half were awaiting surgery. The event provided a positive and heartening experience, fostering socialization and friendship among both parents and children.
