Karachi, The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has inaugurated its Indoor Games Championship 2023, hosting a series of events in chess, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and throw ball. On the opening day, students from diverse departments at DUHS faced off in chess and table tennis contests.

According to a news release by Dow University of Health Sciences, in the day’s chess showdown, Daniyal from Dow Medical College achieved the top spot, with Usman, also from Dow Medical College, taking the second position. The table tennis competitions saw Sidra tul Muntaha from Dow Dental College winning the girls’ singles category, with Urmeen from Dow College of Biotechnology following closely as the runner-up.

The girls’ doubles table tennis title was claimed by the Dow College of Biotechnology, while the Dow International Dental College secured the second position. In the men’s table tennis events, Asadullah triumphed in the singles competition. Moreover, in the doubles category, the pair of Asadullah and Ahmed Abbas from Dow International Medical College clinched the victory. Dow Medical College represented by Arqam in singles and the duo of Arqam and Abdullah in doubles settled for the runner-up spots in both the singles and doubles categories respectively.

Highlighting DUHS’s commitment to sports, it should be mentioned that the institution previously hosted the Dow Premier League (DPL), witnessing an outpour of passion and vigour from its student body.
