The figures are cross-referenced with population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census. The population estimate for 2025 is based on a 1.97% annual growth rate, applied to Shikarpur's census base of 1,386,330, resulting in an estimated population of 1,441,489. Voter registration rates are calculated by dividing the number of registered voters by this estimated population.

Shikarpur has a total of 759,544 registered voters, composed of 402,334 males and 357,210 females. This represents 55% of the estimated male population and 50% of the female population. Nationally, Shikarpur ranks 67th out of 136 districts by population size and is divided into one full and one shared National Assembly constituency. By voter registration rate, it ranks 64th nationally and 8th within the province of Sindh.
