Karachi, On the eve of the Ayaz Melo in Hyderabad, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, delivered a message of congratulations and best wishes to the organizers of the Shaikh Ayaz Mela. He emphasized the importance of such academic and literary events in reflecting a conscious society and honoring the legacy of eminent poet Shaikh Ayaz.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lauded the continuous success of the Shaikh Ayaz Mela, an event dedicated to celebrating the works and contributions of Shaikh Ayaz, a distinguished poet and writer of the Sindhi language. He noted that Ayaz Melo serves not only as a tribute to Shaikh Ayaz but also as a platform for promoting knowledge and awareness in society.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari remarked on the deep connection between Shaikh Ayaz and the PPP, highlighting that the late Shaikh Ayaz’s intellectual and literary heritage is a priceless asset for Sindh, Pakistan, and humanity at large. He recalled how Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, inspired by Shaikh Ayaz’s wisdom, had appointed him as the Vice-Chancellor of Sindh University, reflecting a vision to entrust the education and training of the young generation to intellectuals and scholars.

The Chairman also mentioned the PPP’s efforts in honoring the legacy of Shaikh Ayaz, including the establishment of Shaikh Ayaz University in Shikarpur by the former PPP provincial government of Sindh and the preservation of Ayaz’s literary works by the Sindh Culture Department.

In his message, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed that a conscious society never forgets its heroes, hailing Shaikh Ayaz as a timeless pride of the nation whose poetry continues to live in the hearts of people.
