BPS-19 civil servants spend a day at Aga Khan University 

Karachi, August 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Over 40 BPS-19 civil servants from different Government of Pakistan departments spent a day at the Aga Khan University (AKU) as part of their training by the National Institute of Management, a constituent unit of the National School of Public Policy.

AKU deans and officers including the Aga Khan University Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Shahid Shafi and senior advisor to AKU President, Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan briefed them about the University’s contributions and social impact in Pakistan and globally, and answered their questions related to the University’s research, existing and new academic programmes, patient-centered healthcare services, new initiatives like introducing teaching licences to increase professionalism, and environment-related actions being taken on campus.

“The civil servants are unsung heroes and the backbone of the government structure. Our interaction with them may lead to future collaborations with the government for better public health and education,” said Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan.

“The participants viewed AKU as a national asset, partnering with the government and public-private institutions on education and health, with an economic impact of more than Rs 145 billion per year and supporting nearly 42,000 jobs in the country,” he added.
