Islamabad, Sadia Danish, the Provincial Information Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Gilgit-Baltistan and Deputy Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, has condemned the recent attack on the party’s campaign office in NA-127. She called for an immediate inquiry into the incident by the Punjab government.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Danish strongly denounced the attack, describing it as a cowardly and dictatorial act by the opposition parties. She attributed the attack to the PPP’s growing public popularity and its robust economic and public manifesto in Punjab, which she believes has unsettled the opposition.
Danish emphasized the need for the Punjab government to promptly investigate the attack and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The incident is seen as an attempt to intimidate the PPP, which is actively campaigning in the region ahead of upcoming elections.
The demand for a thorough inquiry underscores the PPP’s call for fair and safe electoral processes, with an emphasis on holding accountable those who resort to violence to disrupt political activities.
