Aseefa Bhutto Zardari Visits Climate Resilient Houses in Larkana

LARKANA, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, along with Bibi Sanam Bhutto, visited new climate resilient houses in Naudero, Larkana, Sindh, marking a significant step in the Pakistan Peoples Party’s initiative to rebuild homes destroyed in recent floods. This visit underscores the party’s efforts to empower marginalized communities, particularly by granting land titles to women heads of households.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, the visit to the villages in Naudero, Larkana, was part of the Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees program. In Village Wandh Ali Mohammad Kartio, Talka Ratodero District Larkana, 92 houses are under construction, with 18 completed. In Village Allah Warayo Solangi, UC Garhi Khuda Baksh Bhutto Talka Ratodero District Larkana, 29 out of 224 planned houses have been constructed. These developments aim to provide not just shelter but also stability and empowerment for flood-affected families.

During her visit, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari interacted with beneficiaries like Ms. Munawar Khatoon and Meem Khatoon, who have received new homes and land titles. This personal engagement with the residents highlighted the transformative impact of the housing initiative. The involvement of key PPP figures like Mr. Jameel Soomro, Suhail Anwar Siyal, and Khursheed Junejo further demonstrated the party’s commitment to this cause.

The PPP’s long-standing slogan, “Roti Kapra Aur Makaan” (Food, Clothing, and Shelter), reflects its dedication to addressing the basic needs of Pakistan’s poor and marginalized populations. The construction of climate resilient houses, particularly with a focus on women’s empowerment through land title transfers, is a critical aspect of this commitment.

Looking forward, the PPP, if victorious in the elections on February 8th, plans to expand this initiative. The party has pledged to build an additional 3 million climate resilient houses across Pakistan, continuing the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s promise of ‘Makaan’. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s focus on reconstruction and land transfer is seen as a crucial step in securing a more stable and empowered future for the marginalized communities.
