Aseefa Bhutto Zardari Stresses Women’s Rights and Economic Independence in Tando Allahyar

Tando Allahyar, At a women’s workers convention in Shahpur Rizvi, Tando Allahyar, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, a prominent leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), articulated a strong stance on women’s rights and economic empowerment, aligning her views with the principles of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s ‘Awaami Muashi Muahida’.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari began her speech by honoring her mother, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and her legacy in advancing women’s rights in Pakistan. She highlighted significant initiatives such as the establishment of women’s police stations, the Lady Health-worker Program, and the First Women’s Bank, which were instrumental in transforming the role of women in Pakistani society.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari linked these historical achievements to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s current economic vision, emphasizing the importance of equal pay for equal work and the promotion of female entrepreneurship through microfinance and skill development programs. This approach underscores the PPP’s commitment to reducing gender disparity in the workforce and supporting women in business.

In her address, Bhutto Zardari stressed the critical role of education and healthcare in women’s empowerment, as outlined in the PPP’s 10-Point Agreement. She asserted that an educated woman can bring about development in her entire family and reaffirmed the PPP’s dedication to enhancing women’s access to education and healthcare, citing the Lady Health Workers program as a testament to their commitment.

Focusing on the challenges faced by rural women, Bhutto Zardari pointed out that the PPP’s economic plan includes provisions for land rights, agricultural reforms, and access to credit, empowering women as key stakeholders in these areas.

Bhutto Zardari criticized the opposition for their focus on the elite, positioning the PPP as the champion of the underprivileged, especially women. She urged the audience to support local PPP candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections to strengthen the party’s mandate and further their agenda.

Concluding her speech, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari called for unity and support for Bilawal Bhutto on February 8, envisioning a prosperous and equitable Pakistan led by women. She emphasized the PPP’s commitment to creating a Pakistan where every woman has equal opportunities for advancement, regardless of her background.
