Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi Highlights the Relevance of Iqbal’s Teachings for Muslim Ummah

Karachi, On the occasion of Iqbal Day, Quaid Millat Jafariya Pakistan Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi emphasized the enduring significance of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s ideas and thoughts, describing them as the voice of every suffering individual in the Muslim Ummah. He stressed the need for Pakistan to truly embody Iqbal’s vision to become a central and fortified hub of Islam.

According to Shia Ulema Council Sindh Province, Dr. Iqbal’s unique approach to integrating the Qur’an, Sunnah, and Islamic history positively distinguished him. He highlighted Iqbal’s contributions in not only delineating the troubles of the Muslim Ummah but also in expressing concerns over their military, academic, intellectual, and cultural subjugation. Iqbal’s teachings encouraged the Muslim Ummah to break free from this subjugation, urging them to embrace and implement the principles of Islam and its superior culture.

Allama Naqvi pointed out that more than half a century after Iqbal’s era, the vision and the map he had for Pakistan have yet to be fully realized. The freedoms and liberties that Iqbal advocated for have not been adequately followed through by subsequent Pakistani leadership. He lamented the fact that Iqbal’s philosophy, aimed at making Pakistan a central hub of Islamic values and culture, has not been appropriately pursued.

He urged that both the rulers and the people of Pakistan need to reshape themselves according to Iqbal’s thoughts and ideas. This, he believes, is essential for Pakistan to rightly progress and be recognized as the focal point of the Islamic world. Allama Naqvi’s message serves as a call to action for Pakistani leadership and citizens to revisit and implement the philosophical teachings of Allama Iqbal.
