Forman Christian College Hosts Inaugural Computer Science Exhibition and Open House

Lahore, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) successfully hosted its first Computer Science Senior Project Exhibition (COMSPEX) and Open House, providing a platform for senior students to display innovative projects that align with Pakistan’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to Forman Christian College, the event was organized by the Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the Career Services Office and the Advancement Office. It featured a range of projects including AI-driven traffic management systems, advanced cybersecurity solutions, assistive technologies for differently-abled individuals, and various Internet of Things applications. The exhibition attracted a notable group of industry professionals and academic leaders, such as Mr. Yasir Rizwan, CTO of TKXEL; Mr. Jawad Arif, SVP of Devsinc; and other distinguished guests, who provided valuable feedback to the students.

Highlights of the event included the awarding of the Best Senior Project in the Applications Category to “IntelliRoads: Next-Gen Traffic Management System for the Cities of Tomorrow” by Omair Ahmad, Saad Yasin, and Ahmad Tariq, and in the Research Category to “B-NIAS: Bi-directional Neural-Interfaced Automaton Symbiosis” by Saad Muzzafar, Muhib Nadeem, and Yamna Hassan. These projects demonstrated significant potential to improve urban mobility and enable greater independence for physically disabled individuals, respectively.

The event underscored the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry, with FCC Rector Dr. Jonathan Addleton praising the students’ innovative efforts and emphasizing the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. The successful exhibition not only showcased the technical prowess of FCC students but also set a strong precedent for future events in promoting innovation and excellence in education.
