PCB Announces Ticket Refund Procedure After Rain Washes Out HBL PSL Matches in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, Following the cancellation of the HBL Pakistan Super League 9 matches in Rawalpindi due to adverse weather conditions on Saturday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has outlined the steps for a full refund of the ticket value. This move comes as a response to the complete washout that left cricket fans and ticket holders seeking clarity on the refund process.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, ticket buyers will be able to apply for refunds starting Tuesday, 12 March. For those who purchased tickets through Express Centres, the refund process involves presenting the original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) used for the purchase and the physical tickets at designated centres. The locations of these centres will be announced on the corporate and event websites over the week. Online ticket purchases will see refunds directly credited to the buyers’ bank accounts involved in the booking, commencing on the same date. Corporate ticket purchases will be refunded only to the corporate entities, with a strict policy against individual refund requests to prevent any duplication in the credited amounts.

The PCB has reassured ticket holders of a complete refund in accordance with Clause 2.1 of the Ticket Refund Policy. This clause specifies that in the event of a match cancellation for any reason, including adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, prior to the match toss, ticket holders are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price. Furthermore, as per Clause 3.3 of the refund policy, the board will process refunds within 10 business days of receiving a valid request, ensuring that fans are compensated in a timely manner.

This announcement is part of PCB’s commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in its operations, ensuring that cricket enthusiasts are not financially disadvantaged due to circumstances beyond their control.
