Lahore, The Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Center in Multan is set to host a U13 Skills Development Camp starting Monday, with 46 young cricketers participating. The week-long camp, running from 4 to 11 March, is aimed at honing the skills of these budding talents, identified by the National Junior selection committee led by Sohail Tanvir after their standout performances in the National U13 One-Day Tournament 2023-24.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the camp’s participants include 18 batters, 16 spinners, nine fast bowlers, and three wicket-keepers, selected for their exceptional abilities demonstrated during the tournament. The camp is designed to focus on enhancing the players’ game awareness and skills under the guidance of a 12-member support staff led by Hafiz Sajjad Akbar. The coaching team features notable former cricketers like Aizaz Cheema as assistant coach and Saeed Bin Nasir as batting coach, with Nahida Khan and Shabbir Ahmed serving as assistant batting coach and fast bowling coach, respectively.
Head coach NCA, Shahid Anwar, emphasized the camp’s significance in nurturing the country’s young cricketing talent, aiming to improve basic skills, game sense, and encourage a fearless approach to playing cricket. The initiative represents a crucial investment in the future of Pakistan cricket, offering a platform for young cricketers to develop their skills and understanding of the game at an early age.
