Lahore, In a display of extraordinary commitment and passion for the sport, a girls’ cricket team from the Okara club ‘Impact wala’ made an impressive journey on foot from Okara to Lahore. They arrived on Friday evening to seek the registration of their club with the Sports Board Punjab.
According to Sports Board Punjab, the team met with Dr. Asif Tufail, Director General of Sports Punjab, at his office in the National Hockey Stadium. Dr. Tufail, recognizing their dedication and spirit, immediately instructed the relevant officers to register the club and ensure the provision of all necessary sports facilities.
During the meeting, Dr. Tufail engaged in discussions with the players and coaches of ‘Impact wala’ cricket club. He emphasized the mission of promoting sports in the region and acknowledged the abundant talent among both male and female players in Punjab.
The ‘Impact wala’ team, comprising 10 girls and 9 boys, expressed their gratitude to Dr. Tufail for his support. The delegation included coaches Rana M Imran and Abdul Rahman, Official Ahmed, team captain Sehra Rehman, and players Alisha, Anshra, Munahil Arzu, Sabeeha, and others.
Their journey on foot not only signifies their passion for cricket but also highlights the growing interest and participation in sports among young women in the region. This initiative by the Sports Board Punjab aligns with efforts to encourage and support female athletes in their sporting endeavors.
