Shahdadpur, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stressed the importance of women’s rights and economic independence while addressing a women’s convention in Shahpur Rizvi, Tandwala Yar. His speech focused on the party’s commitment to empowering women and enhancing their economic participation in Pakistan.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari speaking at the convention, highlighted the absence of ideology and a manifesto in the Muslim League (N) in Punjab and the group of political orphans contesting elections on the star symbol in Sindh. He emphasized that these groups are solely focused on electoral success without a clear vision or agenda.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to his mother, the late Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto, for her efforts in advancing women’s rights in Pakistan. He mentioned the establishment of Women Police Stations, the Lady Health Workers Program, and the First Women’s Bank as significant steps taken under her leadership. Linking these to the current economic vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he underscored the PPP’s agenda, including ensuring equal pay for equal work for women and promoting entrepreneurship through microfinance and skill development programs.

The PPP Chairman emphasized the importance of education and healthcare in the party’s 10-point agreement for women’s empowerment. He also addressed the challenges faced by rural women, highlighting land rights, agrarian reform, and access to credit as key components of the PPP’s economic plan.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticized his opponents for focusing on the rich few and presented the PPP as a champion of the underprivileged, particularly women, who form the backbone of society. He urged the audience to support PPP candidates in the upcoming elections to strengthen the public mandate.
